OwnWise Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 1, 2026

OwnWise is operated by Living Rock Ventures LLC (“OwnWise,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use our website, user accounts, repair diagnostic tools, warranty analysis tools, communications, payment features, and related services available at ownwise.io.

By using OwnWise, you agree to the collection and use of information described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Our Privacy Approach

OwnWise is designed to help users understand repair issues, warranty options, replacement options, and claim pathways. We aim to collect only the information reasonably needed to provide, maintain, secure, and improve those services.

  • We do not sell your personal information.
  • We do not share your personal information with data brokers.
  • We do not share your personal information for targeted advertising.
  • We do not use your personal information to make decisions about credit, insurance eligibility, employment, housing, or lending.
  • We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
  • We do not use your uploaded documents, photos, receipts, warranty records, or claim information to train third-party foundation models.

2. Information We Collect

We may collect information you provide directly to us, including your name, email address, account credentials, account preferences, appliance details, product model numbers, serial numbers, purchase information, repair descriptions, warranty or coverage information, uploaded photos, receipts, repair records, claim-related information, and messages you send to us.

We may collect information you provide when creating or using an OwnWise account, including login information, saved appliances, saved diagnostics, saved warranty or coverage information, service history, user preferences, and communications with OwnWise.

We may collect diagnostic and repair information, including appliance symptoms, error codes, repair history, replacement parts, service provider information, warranty status, product condition, and related home repair information.

If you upload documents, images, receipts, warranty records, repair quotes, manuals, claim documents, or similar files, we may process those files to provide diagnostics, warranty analysis, coverage summaries, claim guidance, repair recommendations, or related services.

We may collect usage and technical information, including pages viewed, features used, browser type, device information, IP address, approximate location, referring pages, timestamps, error logs, and similar technical data.

We may use cookies or similar technologies to operate our website, maintain sessions, remember preferences, understand product usage, improve our services, and support analytics.

3. Information You Should Not Provide

OwnWise is not designed to collect highly sensitive personal information unless clearly necessary for a specific service.

Please do not submit Social Security numbers, full payment card numbers, bank account numbers, government identification numbers, medical records, passwords, security codes, or other highly sensitive information through OwnWise.

If you upload a warranty document, receipt, repair quote, claim document, or similar file, you are responsible for reviewing whether it contains information you do not want to share.

4. How We Use Information

We use information to provide, operate, maintain, secure, and improve OwnWise.

We may use information to create and manage user accounts, authenticate users, save user preferences, maintain saved repair diagnostics, and provide account-related support.

We may use information to analyze appliance repair issues, warranty coverage, repair options, replacement options, claim pathways, and related service options.

We may use information to generate diagnostic suggestions, repair guidance, warranty summaries, coverage summaries, claim guidance, and related recommendations.

We may use information to respond to support requests, communicate with you, monitor product performance, debug errors, protect security, prevent misuse, comply with legal obligations, and enforce our terms.

We may use aggregated or de-identified information to understand product usage, improve service quality, evaluate diagnostic accuracy, develop new features, and improve our internal evaluation processes. Aggregated or de-identified information does not identify you personally.

We may send service-related communications, including account notices, support responses, security alerts, product updates, and transaction-related messages.

We may send marketing communications only where permitted by law or where you have opted in. You may opt out of marketing communications at any time.

5. AI and Automated Processing

OwnWise may use artificial intelligence, machine learning, large language models, computer vision systems, or automated systems to help analyze appliance issues, uploaded images, warranty information, repair options, and user-submitted descriptions.

We may use third-party AI service providers, including providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and similar providers, to process information you submit so that we can provide diagnostics, summaries, recommendations, image analysis, warranty analysis, or other product features.

These providers process information on our behalf to support OwnWise functionality. We do not permit third-party AI providers to use your identifiable uploaded documents, photos, receipts, warranty records, or claim information to train their foundation models, where such controls are available to us.

AI-generated outputs may be incomplete, incorrect, or based on limited information. OwnWise is not a substitute for a qualified repair professional, manufacturer, warranty provider, insurer, electrician, plumber, contractor, or safety expert.

You should not rely on OwnWise as the sole basis for decisions involving safety risks, gas appliances, electrical systems, water damage, warranty eligibility, insurance claims, or expensive repairs.

6. Google User Data and Gmail Access (“Find My Model”)

OwnWise offers an optional “Find my model” feature that, with your explicit permission, connects to your Google Gmail account to help locate purchase, model, warranty, and coverage details for an appliance you are checking. This feature is optional — you may instead enter your model number manually or upload a photo.

If you choose to connect Gmail, OwnWise requests read-only access to your Gmail to search for receipts, order confirmations, and warranty-related emails relevant to the appliance brand you identified, including relevant PDF attachments.

We use this access only to extract the purchase and product details you asked us to find — such as model and serial numbers, purchase date, retailer, and warranty information. After extracting those details, we discard the underlying email content.

We do not use Google user data for advertising. We do not sell or share Google user data. We do not use Google user data to train AI models. No OwnWise employee reads your Gmail content except where you specifically request support that requires it, where necessary for security, or where required by law.

You can disconnect Gmail and delete the information we imported at any time from Account → Linked accounts, or revoke OwnWise’s access from your Google account permissions at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions.

OwnWise’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy (https://developers.google.com/terms/api-services-user-data-policy), including the Limited Use requirements. Our use of Google user data is limited to providing and improving the “Find my model” feature and is not used for serving advertisements or for any purpose prohibited by the Limited Use requirements.

7. Analytics and Cookies

We use Google Analytics and may use similar analytics tools to understand how users interact with OwnWise, improve product performance, detect errors, and evaluate feature usage.

Analytics tools may collect information such as pages viewed, browser type, device type, general location, referring pages, interactions with features, and timestamps.

We may use cookies, pixels, local storage, or similar technologies to operate OwnWise, maintain user sessions, remember preferences, measure usage, improve performance, and detect misuse.

We do not use analytics tools, cookies, or pixels to sell your personal information.

We do not use cookies or pixels to share your personal information for targeted advertising.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Some features of OwnWise may not work properly if cookies are disabled.

8. Payments

OwnWise may offer paid services, subscriptions, one-time purchases, or other payment-based features.

If you make a payment through OwnWise, payment information may be collected and processed by third-party payment processors, including providers such as Stripe or similar payment providers.

OwnWise does not intend to store full payment card numbers. Payment processors may collect payment card details, billing information, transaction history, fraud prevention information, and related payment data under their own privacy policies and terms.

We may receive limited payment-related information, such as your name, email address, billing status, subscription status, payment confirmation, transaction ID, last four digits of a payment card, card type, billing address, and similar information needed to manage payments, subscriptions, refunds, support, accounting, and compliance.

9. How We Share Information

We may share information with service providers that help us host, operate, analyze, secure, or improve OwnWise. These may include cloud hosting providers, database providers, analytics tools, customer support tools, email providers, payment processors, security tools, and AI infrastructure providers.

If you ask us to help with a repair, warranty claim, service request, coverage review, or related transaction, we may share relevant information with repair providers, warranty administrators, manufacturers, retailers, insurers, payment processors, or other parties involved in that process.

We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or government request, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect rights, safety, security, users, OwnWise, or the public.

If OwnWise is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar transaction, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

We may also share information with your consent or at your direction.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information.

However, no internet service, data transmission, or storage system is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

You are responsible for using OwnWise carefully, keeping your account credentials secure, and avoiding the submission of unnecessary sensitive information.
